T-hangers to be built at airport
The Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport Board last week agreed to pursue the idea of building special hangars on airport property in hopes of increasing revenue. Airport Manager Ron Groves said T-hangars — built in the shape of capital T’s fit together — allow more airplanes to be parked in a limited space than traditional hangars. The airport is scheduled to open bids on building three new taxiways on the northwest side of the airport runway, Groves said. Construction of the taxiways previously was approved by both the Guthrie and Edmond city councils. The budget for the project is $202,913. Courtesy of Edmond Life & Leisure, January 3, 2008.
