Edmond-based Bronco Drilling to sell for $438 million

Houston-based Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. is planning to buy Edmond-based Bronco Drilling for $437.8 million. The price is divided into $280 million in cash and $157.8 in stock. The deal is expected to close in the middle of the year and Bronco will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Allis-Chalmers, pending regulatory approval. Edmond Annual Summit scheduled

The Edmond Summit is set for from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 23 at the MAC Center in Mitch Park. It is sponsored by Edmond Neighborhood Alliance (ENA), Edmond Economic Development Authority and the City of Edmond. ENA President Ed Moore said topics of interest will include the Mayor’s Neighborhood Challenge, neighborhood beautification, neighborhood lights and sidewalks, legal issues, how to organize 30-minute meetings, security and safety, animal control issues such as barking dogs and vicious animals and enforcing covenants and laws. Oklahoma quarter launched into circulation

Oklahoma became the latest state to be recognized by the U.S. Mint with a commemorative quarter, which is now officially in circulation. The reverse side of the quarter depicts the Oklahoma’s state bird, the scissortail flycatcher in flight, and the state wildflower, the Indian blanket. Conn’s Appliances enters Edmond

Texas-based Conn's Appliances Inc., an appliance and furniture store is entering the Oklahoma City market. The company has plans for five metro area stores and has leased part of the former Albertsons at 28 E. 15th St. in Edmond. Oklahoma-based Jasco Products Co., an electronics product company has sold its former headquarters at 311 NW 122nd St. for nearly $6.3 million. Trammel Crow purchased the building from the Stephen C.
