Each year, the Edmond Economic Development Authority publishes the Economic Abstract, a full-color, 14-page publication containing the city of Edmond’s most impressive data and demographics. The 2008 Economic Abstract, sponsored by Oklahoma Christian University, contains demographic information and residential and commercial real estate market information. The 2008 Economic Abstract is a tool not only for the EEDA, but also for you and your organization to use for everything from recruiting employees, to attracting retailers and other tenants, to informing potential new residents. We encourage you to stock up on 2008 Abstracts and use them in all of your marketing and recruiting efforts. Petra plans expansion

The Edmond City Council approved a request from Petra Industries for funding from an enhancement package that will pay $1,576 of construction permit fees for their building expansion. The Edmond Economic Development Authority Enhancement Package benefits companies that create new jobs. Forty new jobs will be added to Petra’s workforce. Petra Industries’ existing 105,000-square-foot facility will gain 14,000 square feet of development, an $800,000 expansion of its facility. Courtesy of The Edmond Sun, April 15, 2008.

Bronco Drilling reports 74% rig utilization rate for March

Edmond-based Bronco Drilling reported a 74 percent utilization rate for its drilling fleet for March. Rig utilization for the month was up from 70 percent in February and 73 percent for the fourth quarter. Courtesy of The Journal Record, April 14, 2008.

Edmond Electric receives $20,000 award

Edmond Electric was recently awarded $20,000 from the Oklahoma Municipal Power Authority’s Competitive Utility Program. Edmond Electric’s status as a competitive utility earned it the recognition, said Cindy Holman, general manager for OMPA, a state agency providing wholesale electricity to cities and towns. Edmond company qualifies for job incentive program

Edmond-based Sela Products Inc., a provider of wholesale distribution services, qualified for 26 jobs in the Oklahoma Quality Jobs Program. Regional airport names new manager
