Edmond recycling center to relocate

The Edmond City Council approved plans to relocate the recycling center from its current location on Third Street to the Edmond Transfer Station. The center will still have the same recycling containers, but will extend hours of operation from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday. Edmond offers free bus service

The American Association of Family & Consumer Sciences recently named Dr. Sue Lynn Sasser, executive director of the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education and associate professor of economics in the UCO College of Business Administration, the 2009 recipient of the Friend of the Family Award. Edmond Public Schools to offer full-day kindergarten

The Edmond Public School District will now offer full-day kindergarten at Ida Freeman, Orvis Risner and Sunset elementary schools. The three schools were the only to receive enough federal assistance to start full-day kindergarten. Additionally, Angie Debo, Charles Haskell, John Ross, Northern Hills and Will Rogers elementary schools may offer extended kindergarten programs and services if funds are available. UCO to offer speedy MBA program

The Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education recently approved a new peer group for the University of Central Oklahoma. Small Business Development Center offers new program

The University of Central Oklahoma’s Small Business Development Center in downtown Oklahoma City will soon offer the Small Business Pro Series, taught by Tim Tippit. The first course, “Growth Strategies in Challenging Economic Times”, is offered from 9 a.m. to noon June 10, 17, and 24 at the SBDC offices.
