The Edmond Economic Development Authority will host the 2010 Economic Preview CD Launch and Luncheon, sponsored by First Fidelity Bank, Jan. 26 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Nigh University Center at the University of Central Oklahoma. The event includes a CD launch, lunch, featured speaker and expert panel. Guests must pre-submit questions for the panel to info@eeda.com. Pre-registration cost is $35 and walk-ins are $45. Attendees may purchase tables of eight for $270 until Jan. 20 by calling 405-340-0116. Prices include lunch and the 2010 Economic Preview CD which contains a special video and reports collected from each expert. Hard copies of the CD are available for an additional $25. Ambulance service fee begins

Edmond’s cost of living below national average
Edmond’s third quarter cost of living index ranks 11.3 percent below the national average according to the latest Cost of Living Index by ACCRA. Edmond enrollment increases

UCO faculty receive grant
The National Science Foundation Major Research Instrumentation (MRI) program recently awarded a $136,006 grant to Dr. Michelle Haynie, an assistant professor of Biology in the University of Central Oklahoma College of Mathematics and Science, and Dr. Greg Wilson, executive director of the UCO Office of Research and Grants. UCO professor receives grant
The National Science Foundation Field Station and Marine Laboratory program recently awarded a $239,538 grant to Dr. William Caire, a professor of Biology in the College of Mathematics and Science and director of the UCO Selman Living Laboratory (SLL). EEDA board gives preliminary approval to loan plan
The Edmond Economic Development Authority Board of Trustees gave preliminary approval to co-finance construction of a 10-unit T-hangar at the Guthrie-Edmond Regional Airport.
