Netplex exec: No income tax could attract more high-tech workers
Robert Barcum, newly named president of the Edmond-based Netplex Systems, said legislative efforts to scrap the state income tax could make Oklahoma more attractive to high-tech workers. Netplex Systems, which is expected to generate 2001 revenues of $25 million and currently employs more than 90 (mostly in Edmond), is one of a relative handful of high-tech companies in the state. But Barcum said efforts to repeal the state income tax could change that fact and fuel additional economic growth in the revenue-generating high-tech segment of Oklahoma's economy.
