Construction fees may increase
Edmond City Council recently received the report from Tischler & Associates Inc. of Bethseda, Md. The consulting firm was asked to review the city’s water- and sewer- improvement plans and its current fee structure to devise the best way of ensuring new growth pays its way as far as city infrastructure needs go. The report states that Edmond’s fee structure should be revised and the fees should increase to accommodate new growth. Rush Clinkscales, a city civil engineer who served as the city liaison for much of the project, said the net result to newcomers to the city could be between $1,000 to $1,500 more per home or development if City Council enacts the recommendations.
