Edmond in good fiscal shape
Unlike most state agencies and other cities nationwide, Edmond is finding itself in good fiscal shape heading into this week’s budget hearings. Last year’s economic downtown, further hampered by the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, seemed to have had little effect in Edmond, which is one of the state’s largest growing cities. The most recent sales tax figures for the city show that residents are spending slightly more than was projected for this time of year, said Larry Stevens, city manager.
